Does the birth control pill lead to infertility later on in life?
My mom and my friend’s mom told me that going on the birth control pill when you’re young (teens or early 20s) can make it hard to conceive when you’re older and want to get pregnant. I was supposed to go on the birth control pill when I was 14 to regulate periods, but my mom wouldn’t let me for that reason; however my doctor said that the pill doesn’t affect fertility later on in life. Is it true that the pill affects fertility?

as far as I know, birth control does not permanently affect fertility. If you decide you want to conceive a child and are on the pill I believe it will take about 3 months or so to completely get it out of your system, but as far as long long term, it doesn’t sterilize you.
No. That’s a myth. It might take a few weeks or a few months to wear off at first but it won’t affect your fertility. Also consider this: skipping just one pill at the scheduled time can get you pregnant.
