Men encouraged to Take Travel Nursing Jobs

Travel nursing jobs, like all other sorts of nursing jobs, have historically been held by women. Even as the travel nursing industry welcomes more and more males to the ranks of qualified execs, it remains only a tiny percentage of the positions that are held by men. This trend is slowly shifting , however , as more travel nursing firms encourage men to join the profession and consider the benefits of being able to travel for their work. It is not likely that we’ll see half of nursing positions filled by men soon, but the RN workforce is beginning to look a lot more diverse.

Men currently only make up about six percent of all nursing jobs, whether they are travel nursing jobs or full time positions in a specific heath care facility. But with alarger need than ever for travel nursing positions to be filled with qualified RNs, men are being inspired more strongly to enter this caring profession. The concept is simple – men are just as capable as girls of caring for patients in a considerate and moral way. Men can earn a great living in this field after they complete their nursing degree, licenses and gain licensure in the state in which they’re going to work. In the travel world of the nursing field thereis a great need that has to be filled – by men, by women ; it’s not relevant so long as they’re qualified and prepared to enter an exciting profession that takes them all over the country.

Travel nursing corporations aren’t the only ones encouraging more men to enter this profession. Many universities and nursing colleges are also doing their best to sign up more males because they need to diversify the nursing field with the different point of view that men bring to the table. There has evenbeen a shift in the way that brochures, textbooks and other school room materials are revealed to include more men. As more men enter the field, it is going without saying that more of them will become traveling nurses as well. Unmarried men may be even much more likely to go for their work than female nurses ; although there’s no evidence to back that up as yet.

Men who take travel nursing jobs can enjoy a great amount of benefits, including healthcare insurance with dental and vision, 401 ( k ) retirement funds, some of the highest nursing wages in the bizz, housing stipends, help with transport and other advantages. Many nurses switch to go nursing after just one year of expertise in the medicinal field. There are jobs available in infirmaries, personal physicians’ offices, medical laboratories and faculties across the country, which may last for a few weeks or as long as a year in a few cases.

To apply for work with one of the travel nursing companies, male nurses must have a degree from an accredited nursing faculty or varsity ( the program will depend upon specialty ), a passing grade on the NCLEX-RN exam, and at least one year of experience in their chosen nursing specialty. The difference between a licensed Practical Nurse ( LPN ) and a Registered Nurse ( RN ) is the length of varsity training. Many nurses start with just the LPN training certificate, but RNs have the advantage of being able to fill both LPN and RN positions. It’s a great time for men to consider this type of training.
