OCD linked to Anxiety – Panic Away Can Make Your Anxiety Stop

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder can easily lead to anxiety or depression and affects 2 million American adults. Affecting just as many men as women, 1/3 of all adults with OCD had developed symptoms as a child. OCD can be genetic or can begin in childhood, adolescence or in early adult years. Learn How Panic Away can CURE your anxiety attacks.

When a person is plagued with repeated thoughts or obsessions such as excessively washing hands (fear of germs) or checking to make sure the appliances are off this is known as a type of anxiety called Obsessive Compulsive Disorder or OCD.

A friend of mine came over for dinner the other night and she told me that she has had OCD since the 8th grade. Her behaviour consists of always having things perfectly neat and lined up, when her friends come over and move anything in her room out of her symmetrical alignment it triggers her anxiety and she immediately feels stricken with panic, this had led her to finally talk to each of her friends individually expressing how she feels and her OCD. All of her friends are very understanding toward her OCD and her anxiety and panic attacks. After bringing her OCD and anxiety out in the open, she felt thankful that her friends were so caring and supportive. But she wants to learn how to get OVER it!

Symptoms of OCD:

  1. Needing things to be orderly and symmetrical, aligning them in a certain way that feels “perfect“.
  2. Repeating certain phrases
  3. Constantly cleaning your house even when it`s not dirty
  4. Counting, ritualistic behaviours or patterns that you feel compelled to do and can`t seem to stop doing.
  5. Fear of appliances left on or door not being locked so you check over and over and over
  6. Obsessive about weight, constantly weighing yourself several times a day
  7. Picking at your skin
  8. Driving around the block several times to make sure no one has been run over
  9. Fear of dirt or germs
  10. Frequent hand washing, fear of being contaminated

There is a definite link between OCD and anxiety. If OCD is left untreated it can really take over your life, leaving you like it’s impossible to stop obsessing over the behaviour.

OCD can interfere with a person’s life taking up to hours a day to perform rituals or behaviors, the person can usually recognize that the behaviours don’t make sense but are unable to stop.

Take control of your life again, don`t let the obsessive, unwanted thoughts harass you any longer. The Panic Away program will help you to recover from anxiety attacks and the results will last a LIFETIME!
